My
son (6 yrs old) was bedwetting heavy every night. We washed sheets
every day. He's a deep sleeper. We've had it a week, and some nights
he doesn't wet the bed at all. I think its the fact that he simply
knows he's wearing the alarm that helps him on those nights. Some
nights he starts to wet the bed, and I hear the alarm, but I still have
to go get him up to go to the bathroom. He usually has only wet his
underwear, so I have him change underwear afterwards, even if its only a
little. (The alarm requires dry underwear to work) His bedding hasn't
had to be changed, other than regular bed changes since we got the
alarm. The alarm is pretty loud, but he is a very deep sleeper, like
alot of bedwetting children. I'm hopeful that this also teaches him to
wake before the alarm, or to hold it all night. So far all I've seen is
consistent improvement. I'll update this review to let others know how
it went after a few months.
Previous experiences: We haven't tried other devices. We did try to proactively wake him after 2 hours of sleep. Sometimes it would work, but mostly it was disappointing, as he often had already wet the bed, or did it later that night anyway. We've had no significant stresses in the house, and never made a big deal of it, except to praise him when he did keep the bed dry, which wasn't often.
